Like its bigger sibling, the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport wears new duds for the 2024 model year. Changes include revised front and rear styling with new exterior lighting and a revamped interior with improved materials. The Atlas Cross Sport also features several new tech and safety features, including adaptive cruise control with lane centering.

Real World Performance
Unlike last year’s model, the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross narrows its engine choices down to a single, solid offering. The sole offering, a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, offers an effortless mix of near-instantaneous power for quick passes and hill climbs and impressive efficiency for long-distance drives. The turbocharged mill makes 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque on premium fuel. An 8-speed automatic transmission handles power delivery while keeping the crossover as efficient as possible.
All five trim levels, from the basic SE to the top-level SEL Premium R-Line can be had in either front-wheel drive form or all-wheel drive courtesy of Volkswagen’s 4MOTION® system. Even if you don’t spend your time tackling snowy and icy roads, you’ll enjoy the extra margin of security and confidence it provides. The Active Control feature lets you choose between several presets to further fine-tune your driving experience. For instance, Snow Mode keeps wheel slippage to a bare minimum through earlier upshifts while Off-Road Mode enhances available traction when crawling along rugged terrain.
